We teamed up with the renowned chefs of Soba Ichi in Oakland for a California take on the classic Japanese shichimi togarashi. Also known as 7-spice seasoning, this very spicy and addicting blend highlights the rich flavors of red chiles, roasted sesame, citrusy yuzu, and umami-packed West Coast seaweed.
To use, sprinkle on soba, ramen, stir-fry, steamed vegetables, popcorn ... all your favorite dishes!
Ingredients: Red Chiles, Sesame, Poppy Seeds, Seaweed (Alaska Wakame), Yuzu, and Orange
Daybreak Seaweed Co. founder Catherine grew up next to the ocean, exploring the tide pools of Southern California as a child. Always fascinated by the intersection of food and nature, she worked on organic farms after studying Biology in college. It was on these small vegetable farms that she fell in love with working outside in rhythm with nature and being part of a regenerative local food system that provides nutritious food. Catherine has studied coastal ecology, permaculture, and sustainable agriculture, and is inspired to be part of a women-owned company trying to use business as one piece in a holistic puzzle to mitigate climate change and create a better world.
