Alli Schaper (she/her) is an enthusiast of all things wellness, community, and mushrooms. She started her career in corporate innovation and healthcare consulting after getting her Masters in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. She left the corporate world in 2016 to pursue her passion for holistic health and community-building when she launched a travel wellness company and a curated events platform. Personal experience with functional mushrooms and a passion for psychedelics was the catalyst to launching The Multiverse and it’s first in-house CPG brand SuperMush, where she is currently the CEO & Co-Founder.
What inspired SuperMush?
I believe that fungi has the power to change the world; it has definitely changed everything about mine. Mushrooms are truly misunderstood magic, and their innate wisdom can be distilled into countless life lessons to teach us how to be better to ourselves, each other, and the world around us. Functional (non-psychedelic) mushrooms specifically have been transformational for my personal health with gut problems I’ve dealt with since I was a child. Overall, the daily use of mushroom powders and supplements has had a profound impact on my overall vitality.
I’m also extremely passionate about bringing psychedelics to the mainstream wellness conversation. Most people have such a lack of clarity on the fungi kingdom and even the basic difference between psychoactive and supplement/adaptogenic mushrooms, and that’s a huge part of the education we are hoping to put forth with The Multiverse and SuperMush.
Our team created our in-house brand SuperMush as a way to get all the powerful benefits of mushrooms back into your daily routine in a convenient and delicious way. The fast pace of all of our lives necessitates products that are simple and delicious, and we’re so proud of creating something that’s easy and fun to use throughout the day. Plus, it actually works!
How would you describe SuperMush to a friend?
My co-founder Brian Friedman and I believe that mushrooms can change the world, and that if humans mirrored the magic and wisdom of the fungi kingdom, we’d have a far more joyous, connected, and healthy planet! Because of that mindset we launched SuperMush, our in-house functional mushroom brand. SuperMush is inspired by the colorful spirit and iconic music that fueled the 1960's and 70's, and galvanized by the world's urgent need for health and vitality.
Why mushrooms? For thousands of years, humans evolved eating fungi daily. Then somewhere along the line, they were removed from our diet. Mushrooms are a vital part of our overall immune system, healthy gut flora, and have a long list of benefits to enhance your well-being, with everything from focus, to energy, to sleep.

Community and connection is the key to life, and nothing embodies this more to me that mushrooms. We are just scratching the surface for their potential to transform our minds, bodies, and the environment!
I hope people will remember us as a vital part of rewriting the narrative around functional mushrooms and psilocybin, and for being a major contributor to de-stigmatizing mental health.
I also hope that our mission to help alleviate the mental wellness pandemic is at the forefront of how our brand is spoken about, and that we created joy and vibrancy through our products, events, and educational content along the way.
Lastly, I hope that community, laughter, and music is infused into everything we created.
