hey you, hope you're having a good day!

Shannon Di Russo (she/her) has always seen life through a creative lens. After years of inspired work in fashion, art, and design, the Jamaican-born, New York-raised designer founded LaTèla. LaTèla encourages authentic self-expression: reflexive in nature, perpetually becoming and unbecoming, always in metamorphosis.

What inspired LaTèla?
LaTèla was conceived during an intimate summer I spent in Italy. I was captivated by local culture, and for me, the provocative stay inspired a complete rethinking of style and design. I was inspired by the well-honed craft of local seamstresses, the focus on fabric quality and the quiet elegance of fine details and minimalist essentials. Soon after this experience, LaTèla was born.
How would you describe LaTèla to a friend?
Roughly translated as “the canvas,” LaTèla encourages authentic self-discovery.  We seek liberation from an obsession with fast-fashion productivity. Our offerings are meant to draw you out to the forefront and meet you wherever you are on your journey.
What are your individual core values?

Always put one foot in front of the other and strive to be better.

How do your friends describe you?

Open and kind.

How do you want to be remembered?

As a thriving business that gave opportunities to other woman/woman of color.
